LEVEL: Beginner in shape

Since 2004 - Indeed this year, Expedition Agaguk planned a 7-day expedition to Anticosti Island leaving from Havre Saint-Pierre. This was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Olivier Richard, from Plongée Boréale enr. who will take our passengers and kayaks aboard their high performance Zodiac from Havre Saint-Pierre to Cap Rabast, from where the kayaking expedition begins. Our itinerary will bring us along the northern coast of Anticosti Island, from west to east, to make the most of dominant winds from the Island and for a breathtaking view of the majestic landscapes characterizing the north of Anticosti.

You will find that crossing the Strait of Jacques-Cartier watching whales and, upon our approach of Anticosti, catching sight of the spectacular cliffs plunging into the sea will be, in itself, a privileged experience and well worth the trip.

• Kayaks and equipment;
• The services of a specialized guide;
• The rights of access and camping fees;
• Transportation of participants and equipment by boat;
• The food (optional – we offer a discount if you choose to bring your own food).

• Transportation from your place of residence to Havre Saint-Pierre;
• Camping equipment: dry bags, sleeping bags, tents, other personal equipment (rental is however possible at a low cost).

Day 0 (afternoon and evening):
Arrival of participants in Havre Saint-Pierre;
Meeting with Agaguk's guide to settle the last details of the expedition;
Loading of kayaks and equipment aboard the Zodiac.

Day 1 (at dawn):
Introduction to the safety and basic sea kayaking techniques;
Embarkation of participants at Havre Saint-Pierre Marina;
Crossing of the Strait of Jacques-Cartier with a Zodiac (more or less 35 min);
Landing of passengers, kayaks and equipment at Pointe Nord (Cap Rabast);
Loading of the kayaks;
Departure of the sea kayak expedition;
Setting camp on the beaches of Anticosti, supper and bedtime.

Days 2 to 7:
Sea kayak outings, hiking, observation of foxes, white-tailed deer, seals and bald eagles, bathing in the sea, streams and waterfalls along our itinerary, outdoor lunches and suppers, back country camping along the shoreline on sites selected according to the participants' interests, the distances covered during the day and the opportunities that will come up.

Day 7:
With a high performance Zodiac at Baie de la Tour or elsewhere, according to weather conditions;
Embarkation of passengers, loading of kayaks and equipment on the Zodiac for the return journey;

Arrival in Havre Saint-Pierre at the end of the afternoon;
End of the expedition.
